Central Texas Law Enforcement Executives Association 2026 Scholarship Application Letter

Dear Chief / Sheriff / Agency Head

The Central Texas Law Enforcement Executives Association (CTLEEA) is pleased to announce the availability of scholarships for the 2026 Fall Semester. The children of active peace officers and telecommunications officers of CTLEEA agencies, and those active peace officers and telecommunications officers who work for CTLEEA agencies, are eligible to apply for a scholarship. Vocational studies will also be considered for scholarships.

Attached is the scholarship application, which is also available on the CTLEEA website. Those interested in applying should complete the application and then forward it to you. We ask that you review each application and provide a written recommendation based on your knowledge of the applicant’s merit and educational motivation. Letters of recommendation will only be accepted from Chiefs, Sheriffs, and Agency Heads who are active members of CTLEEA in good standing.

The Scholarship Committee will give preference to applications in the order listed below. In addition, because scholarship proceeds can fluctuate year to year, the Committee may recommend full or partial awards. Due to the number of applicants, there may be occasions when not all qualifying applicants can be awarded a scholarship.

  1. Graduating seniors making their first application

  2. Active peace officers and communications officers

  3. Returning or continuing students

  4. Graduate students

Completed applications and agency head endorsements must be sent by mail or email to:

Chief Eddie Wilson

Copperas Cove Police Department

Applications must be postmarked no later than May 4, 2026, in order to be considered by the Scholarship Committee. Incomplete or late application packets will not be considered. The CTLEEA looks forward to another year of awarding scholarships to our deserving officers and their children.

Sincerely,

Scott Holt
